Hi All,

I'm currently in the process of migrating my companies website from PHP to ASP.NET. The ASP.NET version is still in development however they need a change made to the Request for Information form. Unfortunatly the guy that set the site up origionally is long gone, so it's up to me to do it.

This form is here:
http://www.rocketuk.com/information.htm

If you look at the source, you'll notice that the action of form3 is empty. I've opened the file on the web page and there's no PHP or other server side code anywhere, I've also done a search for bits of the e-mail content in the web folder on the server but it comes up with nothing.

Any other ideas where to look?

- Mina

With no value specified for the action, it posts to itself.

Yeaa I know. But there's no code on the page anywhere to handle the form data, but an e-mail still ends up in the sales team's inboxes.... I'm thinking the server intercepts the request somewhere and handles it in some other way, but I'm a bit stumped on how to find out.

Arg... can't wait to get it into ASP.NET...

That's strange, because when I submitted the form it posted to itself and gave an error of "Metod not found" becasue the html page couldn't handle the form.

Arg. He might of given me the wrong URL... I've noticed there's loads of copies of pages in here. I'll check it and get back.

Ok, got it. He gave me the wrong URL. It was called information.htm, it was just in a subfolder.

The request submits to /cgi/info_request.cgi however there is no CGI directory in the FTP root. Could this be a simular sort of thing to Virtual Directories in IIS? How would I go about finding out? I an telnet into the server (btw it's running Sun Solaris) Could I do a find file or anything?

try looking in the .htaccess file for a redirect to that file.
If no luck there, you can type this:
locate info_request.cgi

that should find it for you.

Ok, found it eventually. Thanks for the help.

After all that we've decided to just scrap the PHP bits anyway and set up an IIS Server and have the two running in paralell so we can add ASP.NET bits as and when we need them without having to mess about.
