Skinning vB is really not a difficult task as you never have to touch the filesystem (all templates and CSS is stored in the database). You should give it a look over first before paying someone to do it, you may find that with a bit of free time it can be done by you in relatively short order. If you need help along the way you can PM me and ask me specific questions.

As its a dating site reeds probably a good thing.. Although its obviously unorigianl.. Maybe you could base it around cupid and have lodas of cupidish graphics. I dunno... Just a thought...
