im trying to start learning php. can someone tell me what is a good FREE php editor i can use that also lets you preview what you are doing like frontpage does.

I use jedit for php and think it is extremely helpful for the learning process -- coding is color coordinated as you type it correctly -- much easier to find parse errors, etc that way.

I don't know about previewing it in frontpage though.

Try Programmers Notepad. I use it and Dreamweaver for the same reasons you use yours. When you download the notepad make sure you get version 2.

Try not to use Frontpage, it sometimes adds code that it special only to Fontpage and can screw up you PHP code.

i used to use front page when i was at school for html. i was wanting something like frontpage but for php.
