No, you insert it as PHP, like this:
Code:
<?php include ("cutenews/show_news.php"); ?>
Be sure to name your page as index.php, or pagename.php or it won't work. Also, try reading the readme.html file in the cutenews folder for more instructions on how to display news.

Can't find the file. Are you sure you uploaded 'show_news.php' to the right directory?

Try using this:

Code:
<?PHP
$number = "5";
include($DOCUMENT_ROOT.'/cutenews/show_news.php');
?>

I have no idea what you just said... Here is the code that I am trying to use...

<?PHP
$number = "5";
include("path/to/show_news.php");
?>

I think that the ("path/to/show_news.php") is this: include ("cutenews/show_news.php);

I tried it by inserting to code into Dreamweaver the way you guys told me, but no luck... Any ideas?

this function mb_http_input() has been in PHP from version 4.0.6. what the error is saying is that the function doesn't exist in the version of PHP you are running.

Assuming that is the problem, as I have no idea what version you are running on, the server isn't returning the version in the headers according to WebBug.

Options:

1/ rewrite the code to not use this function. probably out of the question as it sounds like this is not your code.

2/ upgrade the server to a newer PHP version. Should be done anyway as there are lots of security updates that have been done.

check what version is running though.

use phpinfo() on a page and run it it will list out all the parameters from php

upgrading depends on the environment. dedicated server, co-lo, shared hosting, your own network
