I have a comments system set up (finally), but there's one thing I want to do before I'm satisfied:

Make it so that a single IP can only post one comment in a row, as to prevent spamming (as best I can). Either that, or a system that prevents them from posting another comment for 10 minutes...

Anything simple, actually.

couple of ways;

one is to have a db and store the IP and a timestamp in it then check that before posting, an advantage here of course is you can have a permanent flag to allow banning of persistent offenders or spam posting bots. But a simple solution would be a cookie stored time stamp.

Ah, alright. I'll probably do the database enhanced once, because banning might be useful in the future.
