Hi. I am very new to all of this and need help. I am making a website in geocities and i want to add a thing that i can have members in. like people will fill out a form and get a username to use to login.

I don't want a pop up box that asks for your password and would rather have a on page type thing but if that wont work, the other way is fine.

Also, what kind of programs would i need to do this?Know of anygood tutorials? will this work in geocities and if not what could i use.

Im not really sure what Geocities has to offer, but you will need to be able to run PHP and mySQL to be able to do what you want. Although you can use flatfiles, but I really never recommend them. If you can find a free service provider with PHP and mySQL access then cool.

I recommend looking through SitePoint.com DevShed.com and the PHP Manual

You will definitely not be able to do this on Geocities. Some free services provide PHP, but if you are serious about creating members areas and dynamic content, it might be worth considering some paid hosting. For something simple it can be very cheap.
