Parse PHP in a webpage?

How would i parse php in a webpage ie

some one or i write a tutorial with php in it and one come to php i want it to look like this to a point

but not run the code just show all php formatting with the colors on it. with out putting it in html and manually editing all the colours

Hmm, i'm not so sure about how VBulletin does it, but i know PEAR has a BBCode parser, and may also be able to parse PHP Code so that it can colour it etc.

The tutorial above shows how the PEAR BBCode parser works. I'll have a look around and see if I can find something more specific, but give that a read.

I think pr0jekt has hit the nail on the head. highlight_string() should do it...

sorry for not being online for a few days. pipe over my server busted and my server/router is gone and i am in the mist of rebuilding it. mainly a new comp is sufficing enough. since that i am mainly working on that. but it will try that of what you suggested.

How would i work it so i can put it in a text box and hist submit and it will upload the code to a mysql db and save it for the guides or for easy entry for update pages that have php displayed code
