I am looking for a way to find the closest location(s) to a postcode supplied by a user. I'm not just looking for the closest numerically - but the closest geographically. Specifically I am looking for a solution that works with Australian postcodes.

I have been searching online but not managed to find a database of postcode locations calculations- or a way of calculating distance between these - and was hoping that someone might have some experience in this area or pointers to where I should look for further information.

can you find all coordinates for all the locations that you will use?
put them into a database and then it's all mathematical calculations.

Part of my work database includes a table with over 16000 au postcodes with postcode, locality, state and comments columns. It's commercial, and part of a large Cust.Mngmnt.Systm, but this table may be of help (for a small price...
