I want to include an online bulletin board ~ an area that people can freely post comments.

Are their any like bulletin you guys like and can recommend ?

I have 2.0 PFR (i think) before they closed the doors to the public and changed it to a limit of 500 posts &/or threads and 100 members if i recall.

If your gonna buy a board system look at vBulliten a great board system.

If you're looking to buy, then vBulletin is the best in my humble opinion. Free, look to SMF or phpBB.

I think it depends how "light weight" you want your board. If your looking for an all-inclusive board with a web accessed admin section then phpBB is probably the way to go. If you are proficient in coding and don’t plan on having other people take care of your board for you then I would recommend useBB, it doesn’t have the online admin creation features or the create topic, Just a simple forum with the regular functionality. Phorum is also very popular. My advice would be to install several free ones and see which one you like and are comfortable optimizing

for free i would also say phpBB

and to buy vBulletin
