Hi Guys,

Just been cheking out freeipods.com, and I'm wondering how a site like this is put together. How, for example, do you give each new member their own link to refer friends through, and keep a log of all of this.

I am new to PHP and MySQL but would love to know where I can find the information to set up a site like this. Sorry to sound like a noobie, but I really cant find the answers anywhere else!

Is there a good CMS that will make this a lot easier for me, such as postnuke?

If someone could point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it.
Thanks,
Craig

Thanks for your help guys. Appreciate it. Just one more question. How does the URL generator (Not sure if thats what it would be called but it makes sense!) make new URL's for everybody that has signed up?
When you sign up you get your own link to send people to. How does this work?

Thanks so much,
Craig

it will be an id in a database that you append as a querystring or a virtual folder name that is then parsed by a 404 page, recorded in a database and redirected or a page is generated on the fly.

Didn't bother visiting the site you quoted BTW so I've no idea what the URIs look like.
