it not cpanel its myphpadmin basically i want to make a database i got abook im elarning from but they use a differnt method they run it thouyght mysql mointor but say u can use phpmyadmin

ive never heard of mysql monitor so i did a search on google. but the page it brought up looks like it does most of the main features of phpmyadmin. does it say that you can use phpmyadmin on mysql monitor or on cpanel or in your book? maybe it might help if one of the more experienced guys helped aswell

it say u can use myphpadmin and i got cpanel on my host and in that there a link to phpmyadmin if that makes sense so im using that

no the book it telling how to creat tables and databse and he using mysql mointor but say u can do the same with phpmyadmin

yea.. you can create tables rows and databases using phpmyadmin, it slightly changes per host as the layout might change

what kind of error do you receive? is the database name limited to so many letters or numbers?

i get #1044 - Access denied for user: 'rougvaa1@localhost' to database 'sitename'

do i need to creat the datbase name in cpanel first

if it gives you that option then try that and make sure your username and pwd is correct and you got correct permissions

when you click the sql tab it wants you to give it an sql statement such as SELECT * FROM table, INSERT * INTO table VALUES ('blah', 'blah',...etc)
