You could try mambo www.mamboserver.com
You can template it to look like a clan page and make static pages for your members

Yes, Joomla is essentially Mambo at the moment.

The core Mambo development team left mambo and created Joomla, they have already made bug changes and enhancements in the latest Mambo version to create Joomla 1.0.1 . Poke around their site, www.opensourcematters.org. You'll find a lot of information about the split and how Joomla will be much much better then Mambo. Most people are converting to Joomla.

Here's what I came across for phpBB:
eZPortal: http://smartor.is-root.com/
MX Portal: http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=79571
IM Portal: http://integramod.com/
Blend Portal: http://www.phpbb-portal.com/

Should you decide to step-up to the ever popular vBulletin, there is vBadvanced, which is free. However, the vBulletin forum software itself costs $85 for a one year leased license and $160 for an owned license.

I know this is a quiet old thread but i think it fits.

I'm searching for a free clan cms to develop with. Most of the "new" Clan CMS like BXCP or webspell aren't well porgrammed So programming new modules or features for them doesn't make any sense to me - especially not, since they aren't OOP and they became very unstabel related to security in the past.

I tried some other CMS - but they are often alphas like this free clan cms.

So what options are left? I won't spent my skill to joomla or mambo or phpbb, 'cause they are pure CMS' - I want a standalone Clan CMS to oractice around a little bit :/ Somebody any good links or ideas?

I know this one - but it's not cost-free... I mean - isn't there any good clan cms that persists on php5,oop and probably some DB Features like Adodb or PEAR: DB or even PDO (besides clansuite - i already know this one...)

:/

PS:
@Clan Site Manager:

$99 for a yearly license? Sounds too much to me. But probably it's any good to guys who don't know about working with websites, FTP etc.
