This is slightly old news (from the 24th), but I didn't see anyone post about it.
MySQL 5.0 is out of the testing phase and is considered ready for production use. Version 5 boasts new features that we've been waiting for, like stored procedures and triggers. There has been talk of speed improvements, too. This is obviously the biggest release MySQL has done to date.
We're finally seeing features we've seen in other DBMS's -- about time
Note: This thread isn't intended as a DBMS-war. We don't need those "PostgreSQL" is better, "MySQL sucks" etc etc.
