Hi,

I want to create a directory to list all my products under many sections and categories on my site. Does anyone know how to get a free script for this?

Thanks

I would say try checking out www.hotscripts.com, or if you wish to use a tutorial for this, www.phpfreaks.com and www.pixel2life.com are good.

you should really write your own script.

What happens if something dosen't work, or you want to upgrade your site or something? If you make it yourself you will know how to do it yourself.

I would suggest indexing all your data into 1 mysql table and just link that data to the acctual data. You can then easilly search it using php

How would i edit the the categories and links of the directory? Also, how would i remove the "submit link" and "latest link" option.

Thanks

I have a script that I have running at www.neorunner.com/directory/

I can send you the files. It seems to work well for my needs.

Whatever script you use, simply open the php file in a text editor (notepad) and find the text you want removed (submit link) using the search feature. You can simply delete the words, and the links will no longer appear.
You should find something that looks very similar to an html link (
HTML Code:
<a href=submit.php>submit link</a>
You should remove that from the script.

I hope this helps.

Most scripts (including the one I have) comes with a admin login script. This will allow you to make whatever changes are needed.

Also, you can use mod_rewrite to make the urls more search engine friendly.
