very few of my pages are in the SERPs as they have mandatory GET elements. i.e. http://www......com/page1.php?whaterver=3

without this the page redirects which i know is a big google no-no.

my question is this, should i write a script to create build each page statically?

i.e. http://www.....com/page1/whatever3.html

your thoughts??

mod_rewrite for apache is designed to do exactly this - you request www...com/3/4/contents and it maps that to www...com/contents.php?page=3&subcategory=4 or whatever you want. I'm not sure how to use having never done so. There's a recent thread on it here:
http://www.webmaster-talk.com/php-fo...l-rewrite.html
which has a link to a tutorial for mod-rewrite in it : http://www.ecauldron.com/web/design020.php
