Any help would be appreciated.

On windows i used apache triad. it installs everything you need.
I believe there are better/easier packages to install that do the same thing, Someone else will probably post it, i can't remember the name off hand..

I use WAMP: http://www.en.wampserver.com/

I just tweak the configs a bit, but it should work out of the box.

I believe:

http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html

To be the better all-in-one package than the others. It's got a myriad of tools, components (ssl, jpgraph) and servers (ftp, mail) that you may consider wanting as well as the usual apache, mysql, perl, php.

Cheers,

MC

Yea, I use Wamp, and it works really well. Just make sure that when you write php and want to run it, put http://localhost/ in the browser. Otherwise it be wierd

Installing and running PHP / MySQL needs some cofiguration which may be difficult for a beginner. So it is better to use some Pre-Configured Installation Kits.

You can have a look at some these nstallation kits on Hotscripts.
http://www.hotscripts.com/PHP/Softwa...its/index.html

I personally use Easy PHP ...
www.easyphp.org

It includes, PHP, MySQL Database, Apache Server and phpmyadmin to moniter MySQL ..
It will be ideal for a beginner but if you need some advance software than you can try XAMPP.

XAMPP also has Perl, FTP etc in addition to what Easy PHP has ..
Thanks ...
