Just wondering if anyone would know where i can find source code for a php search engine using an SQL database.

What amount of data are you going to store? Just your website or what?

searching for names in a database thats will probably hold a few thousand entries. then search for keywords within paragraphs (sub string? yuck) that are associated with these names. example

organization: pizzaguys
description: he deliveres pizza omgomgomgug iug icgw qluyvc iuqf ciiuwgqcf iwq

Search all fields specified on submit

That kind of search engine is rather simple and it won't take you a lot to code it yourself. Primitive database structure and simple scripts.
