hi because of a lack of knowlege I have downloaded a php form generator that you put on your website and presumably create the form you want but it is asking me to set the read/write permissions!!! How I am a total novice in this area I have tried going to my webhosts (streamline.net) faq page and it said something about chmod but in gobildy gook. ANY IDEAS WELCOME

You can easily change the directory permissions through your ftp program (or ftp from IE in Windows) usually by selecting and choosing chmod or set permissions in your menu or submenu.

You may also use the web file browser from your hosting control panel too.

YES i do same as mgraphic.
just login to your ftp site with your ftp client. i use (CuteFTP)
then write click on the folder you want.
then choose properties and then try (777) = Full Access

THANKS Iwas useing dreamweaver it deosnt seem to have that facility as soon as i used smartftp it was simple. just goes to prove it is not what you know but who.thanks again i have been strugaling with this all day

Dreamweaver is easy really. You right click a file in the files sidebar and select permission.
