I was going to pay someone to build a database (php or asp) for a website that I am designing for teachers. But then I thought maybe I could use a CMS like Joomla, Mambo, or maybe I could use a php bb.

I need the teachers to be able to fill out a form with 9 questions and it has to be viewable to anyone visiting the site (people looking for teachers). I also want to be ablke to charge people (teachers) to be listed after getting about 200 teachers listed (maybe charge something small like $10).

Someone please guide me in the right direction. Appreciate it. Thanks.

P.S. I AM POSTING IN PHP BECAUSE MOST CMS ARE IN PHP

We build custom CMS systems based on a modular design. We have built and sold over 250 different systems from small business to large enterprize level integrations.

PM me if you would like to discuss further.

so what you're saying is that there is NO CMS for doing what I want and that it HAS to be custom built?

Have a look at RLLCMS

http://www.cms.rogem.net/

It's not custom, but is very easy to modify.

Also have a search on HotScripts for CMS.

Can be easily done with Drupal with 2 contributed modules.

1. CCK (Content Construction Kit) for your forms.
You can create as many different form as you like

2. Paypal subscription module (for charging teachers)
There are many other payment gateway integration modules too available.

3. Drupal has in-built forum (not exactly like vbulletin or phpBB). Or you can integrate with phpBB with another contributed module.

There is also a book module, which can be used as online books. easily organize pages, chapters, etc.

Hope this helps.

P.S. : I don't know much about other CMSs

Maybe Joomla plus the Community Builder plugin might be useful?

I know that this is kind of an old thread, but want to throw my .02 in. If you're looking for a lesson/learning type website (lessons), then I suggest checking out Moodle. It's included in Fantastico de Luxe
