Hi everyone, this is my first post, and I've got a problem.
I recently registered my first domain and got some space for my personal/blog site. When I bought the space, I'm nearly sure I chose to be hosted on a Linux server instead of Windows, but I've been told I'm hosted on Windows.

Anywayz, the problem is this. I use a few *extremely* simple php mailto forms on my sites to recieve info, but these wont work from a windows server, am I right?

What I'd like to know is, will my host be happy to change me to Linux hosting, or is this unheard of?

I'd say it isn't too hard to do. The amount of time it will take your host to convert you is based on the host you chose. Technical and customer support is always key when choosing these types of services. I suppose you'll now be able to judge the level of support your new host provides... :-)

Your mailto forms should run under Windows with a few minor tweaks. It may be as simple as changing the script to use SMTP instead of sendmail.

It's quite common and not unheard off. You should also be able to upgrade and downgrade your package as your requirements change.

Your host should have some premade mailing scripts that work for your server environment.
