I have a problem that seems ilogic to me but i am still learning a lot so most likely i don't have the knowledge to understand this issue

i have a php generation timer setup for a website ( simple microtime at the begining and end of the script ). And on the same time it reads diferent times on diferent computers, at home i get 0.5-0.7s but at a friends house i get 2.5-3s

Is the generation time influenced by the clients internet conection ?
I have thought that it was the time taken by the server to proces the php code, and it should be the same on all computers at a given time.

I have never actually thought about that.

It could be the server load having an adverse affect.

let me make some clarifications :
1. both me and my friend accesed the server/website in the same time.
2. this was no isolated efect. I still get the same values, and so does he.

I would assume the server hit a blip of sorts and processed the time differently.

i get a value between 0.6-0.7, and he get's a 2.5-3s value

Do you both check times at different times of days? If its a busy server (like a shared server), it could be experiencing more traffic a certain points of the day (or other processes such as cron).

no .... we are both cheking the gen time at the same time and get the diferent values.
