A website I made for a client sometime ago has been working fine [for him to upload his own music tracks].

But now it receives the following error message:

Warning: move_uploaded_file(music/67.wav) [function.move-uploaded-file]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/jaadoo/public_html/music_track_update_process.php on line 44

Warning: move_uploaded_file() [function.move-uploaded-file]: Unable to move '/tmp/phpta1zZ4' to 'music/67.wav' in /home/jaadoo/public_html/music_track_update_process.php on line 44

Does anyone know what could be doing it?? I have raised a support ticket although they havent got back to me yet.

Are you sure the 'music' directory has still a chmod of 777?

Ahhh thanks thats fixed it! I have no idea how this happened though?? It used to be set as 777.

Also, the music folder is in another folder [which I tried setting to 777] but that didnt work, then I checked the music folder and set that to 777 and it started working.

I thought that if the parent folder was set as 777 then everything inside it would be aswell?

Chmod has a 'recursive' option, and if that's used all directory's and files in a certain directory get the same permissions, but standard it's not (and you not always get this option as a possibility).
