What a long, strange trip it's been. On September 12, a lot of people wanted to inter all Arabs, like Japanese in World War 2. We were happy when Saddam's children were killed, and even happier when he met his end at the end of a rope.

Sure, Hussein is a common name in the Middle East. Sure, Obama was Born in the USA. Sure, it's only his middle name.

But what a long way we've come. In another thread, Cbwm said Bush is history's worst president because during his reign, Americans have had to live in fear of a nuclear, chemical, aviation, and anthrax holocaust. We've also been trained to fear anyone who looks different, and notify DHS.

But instead of freaking out, we're drawn to his positivity. Barak Obama is a uniter, not a divider. (Where have I heard that before?)

If it were not for his basic liberal views which I cannot ignore, I would vote for him.

1) It was Letterman, not Leno
2) Letterman and his audience are known to be more liberal than Leno and his.

The gaf is funny. Intentional or otherwise. Republican listening or Democrat. Its just funny. Why should it be partisan? Its funny when Bush Gafs... Food on your Family, Misunderestimated, etc. Funny to Republicans, funny to Democrats. Why would this be any different?

If Democrats are going to get their panties in a wad about the fact their front running candidate has the same middle name as the dictator we overthrew and hung, or a similar last name as the most wanted terrorist ratbag criminal on the face of planet earth, they are going to be more conflicted and self loathing than ever.

Oops. Just noticed the second half of that post, where I said "you dont know what you are talking about" was supposed to have been deleted in edit. But thanks for the neg TP. I'll take all I can get from you( you are up to 18 or so). Regardless, I deleted the second half of the post which was really a repeat of the first half phrased differently.

Regarding who called Obama Osama. It seems Leno did in fact call Obama Osama, just not as recently, and not as many times. It was less than a week ago, Letterman called Obama Osama maybe 5 or 6 times in a row. Now that did get a bit unfcomfortable:

Funnier still, if these are just accidental gafs, what are the smear people going to come up with in the general election, when they really want to go after the guy? Apart from his truly historic accomplishment with your tax dollars and mine, and the way he sat back and did nothing during the emergence of the AIDS pandemic, Ronny Reags wasn't a terrible president. Just a mediocre one.

If I had to pick a second worst to GWB, it would be Nixon.
