I mustered up enough resilience to idiocy to watch “Countdown with Keith Olbermann” last night, and I have to say how that guy got his time slot I will never know. It seems he is more preoccupied with trying to take down the guy who is beating him in ratings (O’Reilly) then to actually deliver real news. If this is who liberals actually go to for news, no wonder they are so screwed up on world views.

Funny but true. To make things even funnier, O'Reilly mostly ignores Olbermann, like some sort of flying insect. It is a rare day when Olbermann's name is uttered on the Factor. In all fairness though, I have seen O'Reilly spend an overly long time bashing other news outlets by name, not that they don't deserve it. I guess my complaint would be with the quantity of time spent on it. If you want to do a special on the bias of CBS, fine, do a special. Just don't send a week on the topic. O'Reilly tends to do that with a lot of topics, like Jerry Imelt (GE CEO). Its got me changing the channel over to Real Time with Bill Maher which is FAR more hateful and entertaining.

Your right. I must admit I don’t usually watch the factor either, it seems like news is becoming just as much politics as politics.

I also watched the Daily Show last night, now that was good stuff.

Agreed. Daily show is GOLD. John Stewart is my favorite Liberal. You should have seen the interview he did with John Bolton.

I don't think anybody mistakes Olbermann for news. He's there for entertainment and commentary.

I hope not...

You don't need to hope. He only covers 6 news items per show, and 1 or 2 of them are American Idol. It would be impossible to get your news from this program, because it really doesn't cover much or almost any news. Personally, I watch for the "Worst Person In The World" segment - it's always Bill O'Reilly.

And on that note, Olbermann is basically just O'Reilly with fact checking.

"Is becoming" ???? Where have YOU been for the last 10 years, living under ground ? The news has been less and less about real 'news' and more about other CRAP for YEARS ! Look at what was on the news when Anna Nicole Smith died ? Iraq was barely mentioned for days on end. Other REAL news was reduced to mere sound bites. They spent ALL their time replaying and replaying and replaying all those stupid clips of that blonde bimbo Marilyn Monroe wanna be !!

Now, every time Brittany burps or trips the so-called 'news' can't stop blathering about her ! News.. there's almost no REAL news anymore -- it's celebrity and political pandering and not much else !

As for Obermann, I think he's funny. He used to be on later, 10PM I believe and I'd watch him every now and then to get a chuckle before I turned out the lights. A lot of times, he's just saying out loud what a LOT of people in this country are thinking.
