This is something a lot of people seem to be talking about lately. I've heard some (of what I would consider) wild accusations of misogyny and the like. Ironically, I've read and seen more bile and vitriol from Hillary Clinton's supporters than from John McCain's. (Maybe that makes sense, as Hillary actually had a chance?)
So, what do people in here think? In general, share your opinion. And also, if you could, tell us what you think about a few specifics. Was Hillary's campaign doomed as the result of sexism? Does Barack fight the same uphill battle WRT racism? Is it odd for a person to say sexism is a problem that exists and racism isn't?
Is Xism a fair complaint in an election, whether X is gender, race, or age? If it's a popularity contest, should people be left to pick who they'd rather drink a beer with, and then turn American Idol back on?
Obama has been accused of saying "change" a lot, with no meaning, and no specifics to back it up. Hillary has been saying "I'm the substantative candidate" a lot - is the same thing true here? (I'm showing my bias here - I have to admit, I think Hillary asked us to accept a lot of Bill's accomplishments as her own, but also to understand that Bill's mistakes weren't hers to share.)
What does everyone else think about these issues?
