It has just been reported that the UK government has spent over £3.6 million over the last 2 years to provide an updated parliamentary website.

This to me seems an excessive amount to provide what is not even cutting edge design.

This does seem an excessive amount especially when this money could have been put into education or the NHS.

I can't wait for the election so this government can finally be replaced.

Was that on a no-bid contract? If not, I want to bid on their next project

I am afraid I am unable to advise the bidding procedure, but I think we would all like a piece of the action.

More money into the NHS? Like that would do any good.... The government has a lot, lot, lot of pages, but unfortunately, it duplicates them quite a lot, that's the only problem.

Given this will reach the world do we perhaps forget from time to time how unique our system is? Everything inevitably has flaws but lets not be complascent about the democratic process we still have in the UK. As far as I am aware everything has its own stream of funding, so that money would not be used for Education or the NHS anyway, but I understand the frustration when so much needs to be achieved.

What you need is to tax the "rich" some more. With the extra money, the government could provide the highest level of health care to even the poorest. Robin Hood showed us the way.

I get the feeling in the UK we get a level of health care but if you are over a certain age then its a case of.. well, you're getting old, best make do with what you got.. unless its obvious like a hip replacement, anything requiring an investigation seems to be fobbed off...where as in USA it seems anything is possible if you have good insurance particularly if you were in a Union.
