Did you ever read the swift boat book? It came with a set of attachments that made it look like a research paper. If you threw everything else in the book out the window, you could take the FBI report which placed Kerry at a meeting with the U.S. arm of the communist party (yeh, the the people representing the enemy du jour) where the assassination of U.S. Senators was discussed as a means to bring an end to the Vietnam conflict. You can discredit the co-author (Jerome Corsi) all you want, but discrediting the guy who wrote the FBI report is difficult if not impossible. You could argue the swiftboater vets or Corsi cost Kerry the 2004 election, but truth be told, he lost that election in 1969 when he chose his actions. Actions have consequences, ask any prison inmate.
I haven't read the Obamanation book, and hadn't planned to until now. I didn't really think there was going to be enough legitimate dirt in it to make it worth the read. Given the virulence of the responses and reactions from the Obama campaign and their minions in the press, me thinks they doth protest too much. After reading your post, I did a quick web skim looking for facts to back up your allegations and, instead, found the dirt Corsi has dug up may indeed be legitimate.
For instance, up until now, I had believed the relationship between Obama and Ayers (former self proclaimed currently unapologetic domestic terrorist gone "respectable") was only superficial. Hell, most of us have probably been unknowingly associated with some former criminals via business or other work related relationships. It turns out Ayers kicked off Obama's first run at politics in Chicago. That is more than casual acquaintance. It indicates likeness of thought and principals. It implies a much deeper relationship.
Here is a guy(Ayers) who believes today, as he did 40 years ago, that domestic terrorism is a legitimate means by which to effect "Change" in the U.S. government, and he is the fountain spring from which Obama's political career stemmed? Thats like an endorsement from Fidel Castro(Who did endorse Obama) or Che Guevera (whos picture is on the wall of the Obama campaign office). Maybe the endorsement is unwanted today, but it certainly wasn't 9 years ago when Obama started his political career. Just look how great Cuba turned out.
I'm going to post another thread on this, but it seems that many in America are numb with BDS(Bush Derangement Syndrome). Without Bush hatred, the association above would completely ruin the chances of any presidential candidate.
