Sorry, I can't believe that for a split second. Lusting over a fraction of 18 million votes from "disaffected pumas who pledged their undying allegiance to Hillary" - it's transparently obvious that McCain chose Palin specifically and only because she's a woman.
There were only 260 million other Christians to choose from, who didn't wind up running for VP.
Of course, McNasty met her a whopping 2 times before selecting her, then went on to call her his "soul mate" and follows her around, staring at her rump.

Her having a pregnant, unmarried daughter doesn't bother me in the least. The hypocrisy of Republicans who spent the last half century demonizing unwed mothers, premarital sex, and the like, is what sickens us. The same absolute garbage we see from Rush Limbaugh, who made a career out of telling his faithful that drug users aren't human, should all be rounded up, etc, all the while addicted to opiates.
Now we have a VP nominee from the Leviticus Party, with an abstinence only policy, with a 17 year old unwed pregnant daughter. Palin's high standards for how people should behave (enshrined in law) don't apply to anyone with a last name of Palin. This is sadly typical.

Gee, if that were the only factor, why not go with Angelina Jolie? Her dad is a Republican.

Do you actually think that Palin will draw Hillary supporters? The Hillary supporter is the same lady who is in front of the white house with a sign saying bring our kids home when she herself never married or had kids. And the same lady who would not eat at the pizza joint down the street because they donate all that money to anti-abortion groups. Palin supporters on the other hand are the ladies who will vote for her just because she spoke at a christian convention one time 5 years ago and says she believes in the family, o yeah and does not believe in abortion.

I don't think Palin would normally draw Hillary supporters. For her to draw Hillary supporters, the Democrats would have to attack her for something that has nothing to do with her ability to lead and everything to do with the fact she is a woman. For instance, they would have to start slamming her for having a pregnant teenage daughter, or ask how she can run as a VP with a downs syndrome child(They would never do that ). Then I think you'll see some Hillary supporters throw votes her way out of protest of such clearly sexist tactics.
Don't you see the direct connection between the fact her daughter is pregnant and her ability to lead?

I do have to say that I found her, "Hey Hillary supporters! You might not get a chick for prez, but lookie here! Vote for a chick for veep!" speech repugnant. Even Ferraro didn't stoop to that.

...well she is hot, there is no doubt about that and she has my vote b/c of it.
Could you imagine the sex tape... "There is another scandal in the White House and this time its not Bill Clinton... " *porn music starts to play.*
BTW - I'm only mostly kidding. ...no no I just joking... or am I.

I've come to the conclusion that the Republican ticket must be a joke - when are the real candidates going to show up???
You've got a warmongering, 72 year old pensioner wanting to relive his "glory days" by starting another war and killing American soldiers, combined with a self-confessed hockey mum with zero experience, who was only chosen because she was a woman, and yet stands against everything Hillary Clinton does!
It doesn't make sense. Come on Republicans - let us see your real candidates please.

You're not allowed to mention reality in here. Don't you know Palin is a rock star? My god, these people are acting like they just met Obama or something.

Correction. Like the dems acted when they first met Obama. I think we have just been introduced to the U.S.'s first V.I.L.F.

This post falls under the category of "if the shoe fits" otherwise is is not directed at any comment you made.
Why are you people so afraid of strong female? Are you so insecure in your own masculintiy that you need to attack like this?
I am not defending the canidate for VP. Her speach proved she does not need me to protect her or her family. She is entirely caple of doing that herself.
Gosh, she might even be able to lead an off party senate and control it. Is that what you fear?

That's actually 2 questions, so let's give as many answers. The strong female I fear is my wife, because, let's be honest, she'll kick my butt in a second flat and not break a sweat doing it. Other strong women haven't given me a reason to fear them - so I don't.
Next question. My post isn't attacking, it's pointing out the uncanny resemblance between current and near universal Republican behavior, and behavior Republicans have spent the last 18 months complaining about. That it involves Sarah Palin and not Joe Liebermann is incidental.

Which is great, because she's on on attack here, and needs no defending. What does require some defense ( or admission to hypocrisy and re evaluation) is the shrill yelling about "Obama is a rock star" only to be followed with the same cult of personality awe for Palin. The Governor isn't the issue here - the way the base has received her is, after they've spent a year and a half saying that exact reception is unacceptable wrt the Democrats and Obama.

No, what I fear is that America and Reality are only connected by a thin line, and a pair of scissors is threatening that connection. This has nothing to do with gender, race, creed, or astrological sign.
It's interesting to note, tho, that while you're throwing accusations of sexism around - McCain would never have chosen to run a woman had the Democrats not made it fashionable.
