Its Monday. Almost four days ago, the RNC wrapped up their convention in Minnesota and the voters have had a chance to digest what they heard. Going into the RNC, Obama held an 8pt lead in the polls, a 6 point bounce from the end of the DNC the week prior. Today, the new polls are in, with the Gallup Daily tracking poll amongst likely voters showing a 10 point lead for McCain, and the average of all recent polls giving McCain a 3.2 point lead.

Now, after a week long Democrat sponsored hate fest, we get a chance to look at the new numbers and they dont look so great for Barry. Even the most liberal rags on the planet are saying it.

UK Guardian - http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisf...epublicans2008

SF Chronicle - http://www.realclearpolitics.com/art...for_mccai.html

The thing is, because of the rolling averages used in these polls, we likely wont know the full effect of the bounce for the Republicans until late Tuesday or Wednesday. That means the existing 18 point bounce may go higher.

I hate to be the one to say I told you so(Actually, no.. i dont), but I saw it comin. Osama saw it comin too, though after his campaign had already stuck its foot in its mouth after her announcement. "Leave the Palin family alone". "If someone in my campaign is engaged in those activities, they'd be fired". Unfortuntely for him, he can only control the behavior of his those in his immediate employ. According to the articles above, Obama supporters basically giftwrapped this 18 point bounce and gave it to the Republicans.

The question is, will the rabid on the left be able to hold their tounge and their sanity to pull this thing out before it slides much farther? If you were like me, watching the VMAs last night, you probably saw Russell Brand come tell our youth (yeh yeh Im not young, but Im talkin about the rest of MTV viewers) how they should vote. 70% of MTV viewers found his commentary offensive. I guess the end is not yet in site. One thing I can definitely agree with from those articles, if Barry somehow or other looses this election, the fault will not be his but that of those who support him (Ayers, Wright, Anarchists, Sexists, Russell Brand, Liberal media, Olbermann, Mathews).

Wow... McCain pulled a publicity stunt choosing a woman, and it worked! I'm astounded....

And so on, and so on, and so on......

Republicns move within two points for the open positions in Congress.

McCain-Palin move to within 1 point on the electoral map.

What I'm thinking is that the Republicans need to run Sarah Palin to every mainstream media outlet that is known to have a left wing bias for interviews. As long as the media keep this election about Obama vs Palin, its easy street to the white house for the Republicans.

Mind you, isn't it just a bit pathetic Obama can't take down Palin in an Obama Palin matchup?

Last time I looked, Palin was standing for V.P., not President. The race should largely be about Obama vs McCain, not Obama vs Palin, in the same way it's not about Biden vs McCain.

Then again, it's quite possible that McCain would keel over sometime in office due to age and Palin would end up running the States. So perhaps Obama vs Palin is actually somewhat accurate
