John McCain's people have come out and told the world (by way of Fox Noise) that

• Sarah Palin doesn't know what are the members of NAFTA (USA, Canada, Mexico).
• Palin was sure that Africa was a country, not a continent.
• RNC attorneys are headed to Alaska to take back the new wardrobe (including the jacket from Thriller) "Joe the Plumber"'s campaign donations bought.
• That the $150,000 they admitted to spending on Palin clothes is only the tip of the iceburg.

Palin, of course, says these things aren't true. Except the last one - she said the RNC is coming for the clothes, but they aren't sending lawyers to get them. Who's lying - McCain, or Palin? Clearly, at least 1 party isn't telling the truth. Maybe both.

Also, why is McCain going cannibal on Palin at this point? If she's such an ignorant and stupid person as he alledges, why did he pick her to be a heart attack beat away from The Button?

I don't understand how, in a dark moment of desperation, McCain would pull her into the ticket hoping to bring all those "18 million Hillary pawns" into the big tent, throw Palin to the wolves in the media, and then join those wolves for a meal? Why was she chosen in the first place?

I would be shocked if Sarah Palin really had no idea whether Africa was a country or a continent. It doesn't take much stretch to assume she doesn't, but on the other hand - what a bizarre complaint, when John McCain thought Spain was a place in South America.

My money says that while on the stump, Clinton(Bill) came to the door many a time dressed in nothing but cowboy boots filled with Crisco, and a 16 year old girl on the bed behind him, and you never heard a thing about it.

Had the cr*p these staffers (Not McCain) leaked not been so overtly sexist, and therefore leaked with the intent to damage reputation, it would be a lot more credible. One thing is a certainty. Their names will one day be known, and their future in the Republican party, or any other, be finished.

Get your facts straight. McCain has leaked no such thing. If the allegations about Palin's ignorance of 8th grade geography are true, they make McCain look as bad or worse than Palin. If the guy gives 2 cents about the rest of his career in the senate, he needs to not join, but lead the witch hunt and burn the staffers who leaked this information at the cross, after the proper documents swearing the statements are false have been signed.

Perhaps you've never employed anyone. It works like this. You don't hire an as*hat if you know the person is an as*hat ahead of time. As an employer, that can sometimes be tough to determine because of the sea of people out there, and the liability involved in saying anything bad about someone's job performance. What most previous employers will do is just provide no reference whatsoever, which is the same as saying you wouldn't advise hiring the person if he/she were the last person on earth. A good trick is always to get references from their references for their references. You then ask those people about the candidate applying for the position, and you get a clearer picture of who you will be hiring.

Back to the subject, once the leak's name is known, that person's very public resume will scream "I am the person who made it look like my boss, John McCain, the 2008 nominee of the Republican party, chose a retard as his running mate.". Now what person of sound mind, in ANY political party, would ever want that person as part of their staff, EVER. It would be like hiring the guy who's resume reads he sued his last 5 bosses for sexual harrassment. A liability who would have a hard time getting employed at McDonalds. For all we know, party insiders already know who it is, and that would be enough.

Just saw Greta Van Sustern (Fox) confirm the "Africa" allegation is completely false. This confirmed and reconfirmed from "Senior McCain Aides" who were present when the conversation was going on. It looks like the entire load given to "Campaign Karl" was indeed a "Load" of something and a well done hit job.

Between the Tina Fey impersonations, the "Bush Doctrine" question with Charlie Gibson, and now this hit job, I'd say the label is going to stick for a good portion of the population, regardless of the truth of the matter.

As John said, "What is wrong with these people"? Your guess is as good as mine. The campaign was over and there seemed to be nothing to gain by it, and everything to loose. As conspiracy theories go, the one that seems to hold some credibility is the idea it was one of Romney's people. There is no question she is popular, and therefore, a real threat in the 2012 Republican primaries. Given that, prior to Palin's selection, Romney was the 2012 frontrunner, I'd say that put Palin as the #1 threat to Romney. Just my $.02

Takng aside the fact that McCain's staff was likely fired within a week of the end of his campaign, and that you have no knowledge of the conversations of Republican party insiders, are you trying to tell me you would hire one of those people to serve on your personal staff if you were to somehow run for office? More realistically, would you advocate that anyone(republican or democrat) interested in getting elected hire such a person?

McCain has no problem with his staff announcing that Palin doesn't know what Africa is, counts with her fingers, and ruined his chance at the presidency.
