hello

I think everyone heard about it, France's policies regarding Romans are hitting the Headlines since weeks now . For those who don't know, Romans people are kinda being "deported " i would say... I read a lot in international newspaper like Times , The economist about it , just to get an overview of what people think all over the world , but i also wanted to have some personnal opinions about it.

And maybe did u also see on the newspapers ( as you can see ) that almost 3 millions of us where in the streets to protest against it .
Now i am in Dublin , for 2 weeks already and for a 5 months internship and i hear some really rude things about us french always being in strike ! I wouldn't say that it's not true , but the thing is that we got some reasons to do it . If any of you can read some french you can see more about this topic the consequences of such policies on our retirement system and working life.

I am not lazy at all but i really don't want to work until 69, 70 or 72 years old , when i'm sure I won't even be able to travel anymore or to enjoy life.

just express your mind , whatever you think i really want to know what you guys think about it .

Hello Jouly,

Here in the US one can take an early Social Security retirement at age 62 or wait until you are 65 for full benefits. There has been talk of raising the age to possibly 70, one of the reasons, people are living longer now. Could your country maybe facing the same problem?

Oh my 68, here in the US they are pushing for 70, so far it's still 65. I really do understand your feelings on this increase in age to receive retirement benefits.

I had mentioned one of the reasons for here, people are living longer which is putting tremendous stress on the financial end of it for the government.

I am sure seeing as France has already put the new retirement age into place, the US will really push now to up the age requirement too.
