I'm searching ways to promote my site and I read that you'll get a better ranking at searchengines like google when lots of pages link to your site. So I thought, let's exchangelinks/banners with other pages. My question, does anybody have experience with such exchange programs and can you advice me about that matter? Other promotion tips are also very welcome.

im not a huge fan of these recipricol link sites which are remotely hosted

they dont integrate into your site and your links section ends up being a collection on non related links which i dont think benefits any site

the best way to exchange links is by the good old email

search from google for the related keywords for your site. then click on the websites which rank between 1 - 10 pages and then contact those website owners by email and request for link exchange.

before contacting, place their website links on your site and mention in the email where you have placed their website link, so then they will be more interested in exchanging links with your site.
