Okay...I was doing some browsing on the Ebay web site and found a companay offering huge amounts of traffic pretty cheap.

See This Link

Couldn't this be a great way to make a lot of money? Pay $31.00 for 100,000 hits and just have those hits go to an affiliate link. I'm sure you would make a lot more than $31.00 by getting 100,000 people to an affiliate site??

Any thoughts?

I don't like the idea of selling traffic, even if it is done in an legitimate way because site audiences are not always compatible. What if you went to Netscape's site to download the latest browser and were redirected to Microsoft's site because they pay more than other advertising revenues? I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be happy!

I'd seriously doubt the quality of the traffic available, particular when someone has an unlimited amount to sell (remember there ain't such a word)... and I'm not sure why but I've got visitions of full window popups and popunders in my head, traffic coming in this way is certain to be of low quality, as the page can load without the visitor spending the time looking at the page.

In the end Tim, it's up to you... but I wouldn't use it myself, not unless I knew exactly where it was coming from and how it was getting to my site.

I agree Tiggy.

I would not use their traffic for any of my sites (I think it would come in the form of a popunder or popup if you bought their traffic) and especially not this forum.

My thought was what if you give them an affiliate link to a say "Win an free XBox affiliate program as an example...

Seems like it possibly could be worth the small investment.

I am not saying it would work, but it was something I was thinking about. The company offering this traffic has an actual web site listed at http://prowebads.com

I get several advertisements for traffic. It seems like there are more and more people advertising their traffic products on eBay.

Of the ones that I have seen, a couple of the listings allow you to "target" to a small extent. It might be "computer" related, which is broad, but that is better than getting anything and everything.

And some of the listings for traffic will tell you if they are pop-ups (or some variation) or if they are used for startpages, or whatever. There's an endless array of possibilities.

ProWebAds uses ads including banner, tower, and popunder advertisements. I don't know if they try to target the ads. I would consider the tower ads to be the best of those choices and there is always the potential of the "right" person seeing it.

This is not a suggestion one way or the other without first finding out how they target, or if they target the traffic.

Posters note: Dave sees that Tiggy's English is getting more like his, "ain't it". Hehe!
