Sorry if this is in the wrong section but it seemed like the most correct :detective:

I have seen a lot of paid to surf websites poping up. These websites never last and always end up being a scam, yet hundreds of people invest in one as soon as it opens.

Examples: 12dailypro.com (closed) and studiotraffic.com (closed).

Both of them were up for a long time and paid for a long time, then they just shut down taking hundreds of thousands of dollars. A good example is gcisurf (atleast I think that was the name). They won everyones trust and then scammed them all in a month or two taking hundreds of thousands of dollars.

What is your take on these programs?

Scams for sure. The scary thing is that people really fall for these stuff.

I can admit that I invested some in one program, I knew the risk and what it was all about, but I just had to test it. I used some of my play money and invested, a couple of months later it crashed, luckely for me I did not loose any money.

Yep I had tried one before as well. I actually got paid a couple times which lured me in. Thankfully though, at the end I hadn't lost too much.

Can't blame you. Have you invested in one before?

I think you might have done one of those scam ones that don't require you to invest like surfjunky.com . That website is the largest running scam I know of in terms of what type of site it is.

I tried a paid to search thing a few years back... it was a scam, of course. After the first or second month live, they suddenly "dissapeared".

Do they make you pay something to join? If not I don't see the harm in trying it out, you've just lost some time I guess if it folds.

I run an image hosting site that has revenue share. We constantly have to fight abuse but in the end it's still profitable, would like to branch into some other sites that have lower overhead though.
