Adsense or YPN ads on the main page, integrated into the content ABOVE the URL text box, and then perhaps other ads above the proxied surf pages. However, for those you would have to use Clicksor or someone else because Adsense (and as far as I know, YPN) do not allow you to display their ads on proxied pages.
edit: You could also look for an affiliate program that sells privacy software (anonymous surfing, secure hard drive cleaning, etc) and put product links on the pages. Probably have better luck with PPC ads though, and I hope you've got a dedicated server.

I just checked the TOS of Google Adsense, and here's what it says about site content:
Quote:
Site may not include:
* Excessive profanity
* Violence, racial intolerance, or advocate against any individual, group, or organization
* Hacking/cracking content
* Illicit drugs and drug paraphernalia
* Pornography, adult, or mature content
* Gambling or casino-related content
* Excessive advertising
* Any other content that promotes illegal activity or infringes on the legal rights of others
* Pop-ups, pop-unders or exit windows that interfere with site navigation, obscure Google ads, change user preferences, or are for downloads. Other types of pop-ups, pop-unders, or exit windows may be allowed, provided that they do not exceed a combined total of 5 per user session
* Excessive, repetitive, or irrelevant keywords in the content or code of web pages
* Deceptive or manipulative content or construction to improve your site's search engine ranking, e.g., your site's PageRank
* Incentives (monetary or point-based) to users or third-party beneficiaries for online activity including, but not limited to, clicking on ads or links, performing searches, surfing websites, reading emails, or completing surveys
* Sales or promotion of certain weapons, such as firearms, ammunition, balisongs, butterfly knives, and brass knuckles
* Sales or promotion of beer or hard alcohol
* Sales or promotion of tobacco or tobacco-related products
* Sales or promotion of prescription drugs
* Sales or promotion of products that are replicas or imitations of designer goods

It doesn't mention anything about proxies in there. I'm sure it's safe to display Google Adsense on proxy-related websites.

He's talking about the frame that displays at the top of pages that are being accessed via proxies. You can't display ads on there.

Well, of course, you can't do that since users would be clicking through proxies. You should display a frame without the proxy on top, and a frame with the proxy page on the bottom.

What i would suggest is that it's about time, you should start to love those annoying popups in order to make easy money from a proxy website

You are still not allowed to display AdSense on the page at the top. This has been a much-discussed topic at DNForum, as there are like 5 proxy sites a week sold on there.

How about when accessing a page via a proxy have an "advert" page that appears every 3rd page or something...like a "click here to continue to the proxied page" with some adverts etc.
There is an alternative...this idea is pretty "dodgy" morally speaking and a bit sneaky, but you might like it...
Seeing as your service is getting the data and relaying it to your user, you can do what you want with the page being access with the proxy - i.e. you can "insert" an advert in the site there.
Not sure how well adsense would work here - don't think it would be able to pick up on the context for relevent ads. Depending on your users you might bale to get away with generic sex ads though (guess most proxy users are kids trying to get past school filters).

Well placed AdSense will make you earn a lot. You should also change the placement every 2 weeks or something to optimize the revenue.
At some point with my biggest proxy site I used Adversal for pop-unders and it generated some money. You should try it.
Adsense doesn't work on proxied sites because it would be using content from sites you didn't create and from where you don't have any control over. For example if someone browses porn with your proxy, then it's in violation.
Regards,
Jerome.
