I am considering selling an ebook that I'm working on via eBay as one of my methods. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to be successful selling ebooks that way?

I plan to sell it on my site via clickbank for the most part, just using ebay to get additional exposure and get things rolling.

I'm thinking about spinning it as a "special market test" and selling it at a reduced price on ebay to see how it goes.

Yeah thats a good angle. Sell it on ebay at a rduced price, limited copies avaiable at this price etc etc. Also make sure you leave a link to your site to get some traffic.

Depending on the price of your e-book, it might be worth making a less detailed version on the same topic, and selling this on ebay at a discount price, then throughout that leave links to your actual e-book.

Honestly, I don't really buy stuff, especially digital content from ebay. It's just really hard for me to trust all the resellers on there selling tons of stuff for really cheap. I'd much rather buy something more expensive from someone I trust then from the massive crowds at eBay, especially when a lot of scams occur through eBay.

Trust me its not worth it.

The first month on ebay selling an Ebook I made over $3000 with 100% feedback.

The following month I spent hours typing keywords in to Ebay to find the members on there selling my Ebook at half my price.

I got a friend to write out the speal regards not copying or selling it on,but it made no difference.

I lost out big time and wished I had kept to clickbank only.

You dont have to rip off members on Ebay but they will rip you off !

Couldn't people buy through clickbank and sell on ebay? seems it's only an extra step difference, so perhaps the slight added inconvenience could be a problem.

on the other hand, with lots of updates that only real buyers could get, this might work. you'd need an area that's always changing. for instance, people say seo keeps changing, but the basics don't, so lifetime updates in this area are a so-so feature.

Actually My wife and I are creating an ebook and we plan to sell it via ebay and clickbank ( if I can find someone to help me build a site so they can buy it their) but I think the key to being successful on ebay and elsewhere selling ebooks is to use a software like www.ebookgold dot com (no aff link here, lmao).

The biggest problem with ebooks is that people buy them and then turn around and sell them without permission. And they claim clickbank is real easy to go and just read the ebook , keep it and request a refund which clickbank gives without cause.

With this program you can disable the ebook, so if a customer claims a refund you disable their code and they can no longer view the ebook. Also the software has it where you can not print the ebook, copy and paste , drag off images etc etc. Each person that buys your ebook will have a pin assigned to them that is only good on their 1 computer. They cant give a download link or zip it and send it to anyone else.

My big issue with me venturing into this was the fact that I didnt want to have my ebook scattered all over the internet with me not getting compensated for it. Atleast with this prgram it still may happen but I can slow the process down a hell of a lot. So figure if I can buy 60-90 days with noone else pirating my ebook then I could make an extra few thousand dollars.

Just an idea but i am a real believer that this method is the way to go. And I think anyone that spends the time to write an ebook should atleast not do it with the freeware and pdf ebook software out there that anyone can crack.

But check them out, I think that may be the key for you.

And I will be right there with you, once I can get a site developed to drive some traffic to. Ebook is about ready, Unique, Original and should do real well.
