I just cant understand why to not use just wordpress and make one custom theme as you want it?!

Try out the special themes like 'Squible', 'Hammingway', 'K2', 'Origami'....they are different.

A lot of people do not have the ability to modify a custom theme.

And you think that this "ALL IN ONE" themes is easier to modify? or it is better?! or even do not need to be modified?
Try semiologic for example not like other themes, but if you get to modify it, is pain in the ***... (self experience)

It all depends on what you need WP for. If it's a simple blog, then use a released theme. If it's for something important, either teach yourself (like I have) through trial and error how to modify a theme. And if you don't want to do that, and still need a unique, radical theme, find someone who can do it and pay them!

well, if you want custom wordpress theme which will make your blog different than standard ones you need one of two things, 1- pay a designer to create for a you an unique theme or 2-learn how to cutomize or create it yourself.

I think that first of all he need to know what he want! (nothing personal)
And when you are saying something like "I need Wordpress theme that doesnt look like wordpress" try to provide some samples or explain what for you is not like standard blog theme.

You can create whatever you want from side of graphics and after code it for wordpress...
