Anyone know of a WP theme that doesn't look like a WP typical theme right out of the box.

I've looked at themes.wordpress.com but nothing there is what I'm looking for. Everything look like a blog already.

I guess I got to make my own or hire someone.

I'm currently on a search for one too. If I find one, I'll let you know. Most themes that people already know of and the decent ones all obviously look like WP.

Sometimes changing the header makes all the difference. Readers tend to forget to associate them with WP when the header's really great.

There are tons of great templates there!

I bought a theme about a month ago and released it for public use. The intent of the theme is pretty much what you're looking for, but I'll leave it up to you whether or not it succeeds:

The theme is geared towards solid ad integration and not having a heavy blog feel. Hope you like it.

Look all over this site, because they have developed some user software to go with their wordpress themes that make them modifiable. I think it is what you are looking for.

Really dig deep on 3rd party designer pages which give away nice WP themes. I know what you mean though, it is hard to find something that isn't so cookie cutter blog like.
