Im very interested to know, how to people earning anything over $1000 monthly now, started out, what type of sites they made etc. How long it took before you started making a decent amount of money, what did you do to get the traffic? I have ideas o my own, but since they arent tried and tested i thought id pick some of the more experienced members of this forums brains before i use my time.

I started with one article, one domain, and an adsense account. I built a site, read forums, studied other sites, tweaked, built another site, read some more, tweaked some more, built another site.. rinse and repeat. Have some fun and experiment.

As nice as it would be to have someone with experience walk up and show you the way, chances are it won't happen. Hurry up and get started is my advice.. get that learning curve out of the way. You'll meet other webmasters that you'll learn from them along the way.

It took me about 9 months to break $200.00 in a single month (focusing only on adsense), since then it has gotten markedly easier. Unlike many people here I got (and get) 100% of my traffic from search engines and unpaid links - but
*most* of my sites are good quality content sites. Different sites warrent different methods of advertising.

I started with nothing.. no income no nothing.. friend gave me hosting and I've gone from there.

it took me 3 months to get 100 in my adsense account.. the about another 6 months to make around 150 to 200 a month then about another 6 months to make 1K a year.... and so on

give it time and continue to build quality sites the money will come!

I started out by promoting affiliate programs through MySpace profiles...once my site got popular, then I started making some Adsense revenue as well

I think i came accross wrong in my opening post, im not looking for someone to hold my hand and lead me, but im just interested to know. 9 months eek. unfortunately i cannot use adsense

, i hope YPN will become worldwide soon.

Hmm i like the myspace idea, i might look into it

I started doing freelance work (i.e. content writing and graphic design work). Also the occasion web package. Everything went up from there.
