What to do after MySpace fades out?

Even though MySpace is very popular, I'm sure the popularity will fade away one day. Whether it's a server crash, or the MySpace building catching on fire, it will fade away. Anyways, many webmasters are using the site's popularity to advertise their sites and get money, I am doing that myself. But what will we all do after MySpace dies? I'm sure some of you will keep that a secret, but I'm interested in your opinions.

I couldn't begin to guess what it would be, but there will probably be another fad after myspace that is similar. Some people won't even be affected by it, it all depends on your targer audience.

Well all I know is that my eyes are wide open for anything that smells like the next fad. I will probably target teenagers and young adults though.

I think it is a bit early to think about the demise of MySpace. Things are going so well for it. And there will always be TONS of niche sites like it or competitors that will get big and be an ever growing supplement for MySpace. When Friendster started fading out, MySpace took it's place, etc.

I was thinking the same thing. The pixel sites for example, some sites that came right after Alex's site are successfull, but the rest simply suck and no one goes to them.

I'm not so sure MySpace is going anywhere. Once sites reach a certain size it becomes a lot more unlikely that they'll fall apart.
Everyone talks about Friendster dying, but it was never anywhere near as big as MySpace.

Why do people go to Myspace?
Because it's cool.
Do things stay cool?
No.
Get it whilst it's hot.

I dont think so - eBay is a different kettle of fish because its about people buying and selling, you want a big market to sell to, and you want a lot of sellers to get choice and value etc etc.
MySpace is mainly for teenagers and young adults who are notoriously fickle. If "the cool kids" or other popular people decide to move to another networking site, chances are all of their friends will start using it too. If this happens a lot then you can see where its going to go.
This is assuming that the who Social Networking fad wont just die-off on its own anyway, like certain toys and fashions being insanely popular then being forgotten within 6 months.

If MySpace does die out any time soon... it will be because bulletin spam, comment spam, and fake profiles killed it!

Did regular spam kill email? Did search spam kill google? :donatello: < no reason for that, just want too use it.
I do wonder just how many spam profiles are being created every second though - my myspace account creator can sure make them fast :innocent:

I dunno, in my perception having a crusty old bloke buying it so he can milk it like a big fat cow did it for me.
Seriously, how cool is News Corporation?
Myspace once had the cool hip groover status, now it's becoming the arse end of the web.

Well in the mean time everyone with a myspace site should keep on building up traffic and generate return visitors.

Don't get me wrong... I hope it lasts forever! When it comes to spamming MySpace, I'm guilty as charged...
What program do you use for creating new accounts? I use AdderRobot for friend requests and messages... and I used to use a whore train program, but it stopped working well once MySpace put a stop to most javascript stuff
