Why do you think mySpace is cracking down? Did any of your profiles get banned? If so why? Was it for bullitens? comments? PMs? Multiprofiles? automated tools? what limits did you hit that caused this?
If you are getting sued, by whom? When did you find out? How? By fax? email, snail mail? how did they track you down? What are they sueing you for?
All of that info would be helpful... Or did someone at the hotdog stand in the mall tell you that mySpace is cracking down. did someone comment in your profile 'i am gonna sue u dewd!! my daddy is a lawyer!'

This post cracked me up. It's so blunt and to the point and is exactly what was going through my head as I trolled these posts.
First off, I have to say, THANK God (or someone) that I found this forum. I have been delving into MySpace and Craigslist marketing for about 3 months now and have been in Internet Marketing since I was 16...I'm 26 now. It's amazing to hear responses from people, noobs and seasoned marketers alike how they think marketing to these crowds is an absolute waste of time.
This type of marketing does work! Thanks for the Badder Adder program Michelle. I purchased from you and it's made life much easier. Any idea what Space Station is? I swear it's built from the basic code of Badder Adder but has many more features.
Anyway, thank you Michelle for dropping by and giving some great posts - insightful and full of experience and knowledge which I definitely can't say about some of these whackjobs on this forum and others. It would be great if people make a claim on here that it isn't some exaggerated opinion because of their morals or what their teenage kid told them at the dinner table last night.
I absolutely LOVE how this thread started out. It started as an experiment and everyone had creative and enthusiastic input. It was a simple campaign to even give the newbies something to think about and play with. THANK YOU ChickenHole and J-Weezy for your generosity in your marketing data.
Could we get back to this type of discussion instead of talking about the doom of Internet Marketing through MySpace and yada yada yada. If you are stupid, of course you're doomed to be successful in this arena. If your agile, quick and creative you can make any marketing work, you just have to find that door to open.
My opinion on the "MySpace Crackdown" which I truly haven't felt too much is that it's probably going to get worse for the everyday marketer to combat. MySpace closed a deal with Google for $900 million for 3 1/2 years of contextual advertising. Now with this extra padding in the coffers, I expect MySpace to get off their *** and fix all their buggy software and while they are at it they'll probably take a few swings at people like us.
If someone knows of a private forum based on these subjects that isn't full of naysayers, untested theories or just crazy babbling let me know.
I must sound whiney. Oh well, but hey, I have had a great read tonight. Thanks everyone. Let's keep working this one - it's working for now.
