I signed up for TextLinkAds and a few hours later got $25 for referring a publisher.

Question?

1. What do TextLinkAds get?
2. Did they earn from me?
3. How did they earn if a publisher JUST SIGNS UP?
4. Did I really get that $25?
5. When will I get my check?

Already read those. I was wondering what TLA gets if I just reffer a publisher. They're not just giving away $25 are they?

Henry, when they accept a new publisher they believe they can sell links on his/her website from which they get 50% share.

What if the publisher just signs up and is only interested in the affiliate program (which no site is required) NOT the publisher program? Do they still earn? I do but do they?

Henry: I'm thinking instead of using that money to go out and heavily advertise their service via banners and such, they do a referral system to get people to try out their stuff. It's probably something along the lines of that.

But is $25 too much? What if they're just flooded with fake sign ups (fake name, fake address, etc.)? How will they know if the publisher/affiliate is legit?

They are taking a chance. They are working on the angle that people wont be out advertising links just to get people to just sign up to collect the $25 and run.

If it becomes a case of everyone just abusing it and grabbing the money and running, the campaign wont last long.

that's why you only get the 25$ if your referral gets a site approved..

Their referral program is CPA, their link program is payed per month by advertisers.

It is better than Adsense in a way because you are not depending on your visitors to click the ads, and you know how much you'll earn by the end of the month, think of it as some sort of passive income that doesn't really require any visitor action.

Yep, people are starting to do "favours" for each other, just like with the adsense-click-fraud, but this time the numbers are bigger ($25 for a single sign up), which means the campaign will probably end soon.

Hey guys,

It seems there is a lot of confusion about TLA. I've asked their support all the details and am happy to share them.. I was confused in the beginning too. The way it works is:

You have a referral link, someone signs up. Now, nothing happens until they place the TLA JavaScript code on their page. Once the code is on their site for 7 days, you get $25. They don't need to have any links purchased from their site, only that the JS code is inserted in their HTML for 7 days.
