It does work if you do it right. You can make much more money spamming SE's than creating content that no one but yourself will read or link to. JMHO. but you still have to put a lot work into it. if you choose to go the route of writting content and building an established site you should give it 2 years atleast for it to work. Most people don't have the patience however to wait two years.

Um he rasies some good points but I don't think you can make a whole lot of money with communities though. The CTR for forums is quite low.

There are so many ways people are making money that I really don't think there is answer to how "most" are making money ... everyone does it differently.

I'm sure I'm not the only one that makes at least some of my money from what might be called spamdexing where adsense is the only revenue source.

If you're going to try going down that road you need to think about where you'll get content, how you'll turn it into a website, how you'll get traffic (if its by spamdexing you still need to have a lure for the spiders .. i.e. links), and how easily can you replicate once they get thrown out.

Personally, spamdexing has no value for me as a full-time SEO/SEM, since I obviously can't add something like that to my portfolio. Plus I have enough of a time keeping up with Google's mood swings on my totally white-hat sites... if I were black or grey hat, I don't think I'd have time to sleep.

Just curious; If your sites get banned for spamdexing and you were useing adsense on them, what happens to your adsense account ?

Blackhat is one way of making money. If you are a tech guy with no morals, you could proably make a killing with Blackhat. But it's not easy, it's just different. I don't want to destroy your dream of "easy money online"...but...there's no such thing. Maybe if you get incredibly lucky.... but that doesn't happen to 99,9999% of all internet marketers.....

And chances are that if you're cunning enough to make big bucks with blackhat techniques, and have the drive to keep up with it, then you could make twice as much doing it whitehat.

good post, way too many think blackhat is some walk in the park. Not at all. To be really successful you at least have to know programming languages like PHP and Perl down to a tee. The lure of it is the automation. But it takes alot of work to get there.

It's not for everyone. I tried blackhat and I found myself making ALOT more with whitehat techniques.

Either way, black or white, you gotta work hard for the big bucks. :yes:
