I have considered buying a myspace site. Something to give me a jumpstart into the myspace arena.

However, I am a little concerned about the myspace fad dying? Thoughts?
I recently watched, what looked like a good one, sell for $6500 on DP.

Thanks for any advice.

nah myspace fad is not dying, its just that there is too many myspace sites, IMO, but if you can bring something new in the game, go ahead...

Between these and arcade sites, and proxy sites, it just seems like there is too many. I guess I need to find something new. They all say they are making money though.

I keep reading about finding the right niche to do websites about but most that interest me seem that they would be low traffic or have a lot of competition already.

It's not dying, you just need to do it right. I made one not too long ago, actually I just sold it on dp (www.mydiv.com). It did pretty good for the first week I think.

It's not dying. Jumping in now would be a good time. There's really not going to be anyone that's dominant in this MySpace game. MySpace users are always changing their layouts so if you come along, they'll use your site.

OK, what's dp? I'll sell MySpace5000.com if anyone wants to buy the name and/or site.

I don't think there's too many as there's so many users on MySpace. I thought I read they get like 200,000 new signups/day. You can make money.. all depends on how good you can market it.

I have a myspace site that is receiving 1,000+ visitors daily. I haven't done any advertising on it for months so it's been consistant daily. Most of the traffic comes from search engines, the rest are from images in myspace profiles or type-ins. It doesn't use one of those MySpace turnkey scripts, so it doesn't have the same content all the other MySpace sites have, which is the reason I'm guessing it ranks well. Still has areas of the site that need updaing, so it has potential to do better.

If anyone wants to inquire purchasing it, PM me.

Now I feel like makin a MySpace site
I have one of the turnkey ones but I haven't touched it in ages - might make my own layouts and put up a site.

its becoming too saturated, I wouldn't get into it unless i bought one that already is established. but i don't think i ever would.

I have one. Its established - sorta. Started in January.I think there's room for more sites - because of the vast amount of people on myspace.
Its just a matter of how hard you want to work. If you buy a turnkey which offers the same stuff as everyone else - you'll have to work that much harder to find people interested from myspace who havent seen the stuff already. If you buy a turnkey or new site - thats different - doesnt look like the others - and offers more stuff - then you won't have to work as hard once word gets out.

One key to having a great MySpace resource site is to first open a MySpace account for yourself, get in there and play around with it to get a good feel for how it all works. When you figure out a few things you'd personally like to have available for your profile, take those ideas and make sure your resource site has something to cater to them.

I have a feeling (and it's not -just- a feeling because I know at least two people like this) that a lot of people start MySpace sites and don't ever get into MySpace themselves to see what they can offer that all the rest of the sites out there don't.

I've been thinking of selling my MySpace site... if anyone is really interested in buying a well established site, please PM me.

It currently makes around $1,600 per month and has a PR 4

I read somewhere (not sure if it's true or not) that myspace is going to start going after people who have myspace domains. Personally, it's already saturated past the point where I'd want to START a site. But buying an established one is another story.
