It seems most people sort of take a reactive approach to ad sales on their site. They take what the ad networks can give them or wait for people to contact them inquiring about advertising.
Have any of you successfully pursued and sold ads yourself without going through a third party? Meaning you actively when and sold ads on your sites (possibly creating a media kit/sales pitch).
Just curious if anyone has been able to do this and have good results.
