Ok.. so i just logged into one of my myspace accounts and i see a bulletin from my name promoting someone else's website. I check the whois of the site and i got all of this info about him

Where the hell would this guy have gotten my email and password?
I dont know much about hacking, and i borrowed a friend computer to do all the myspace stuff, because i have a mac. Maybe the pc im using has a virus or something.
Can someone help me out with this?

Sorry to hear that. Chances are, he didn't get your account info. He probably paid a phisher to promote his sites for him via MySpace. It's starting to turn into a shady business but what can ya do..

Your best bet right now would to just change your account information and forward what you know to MySpace's abuse group.

Yeah, i just changed my password. I dont really care about the myspace account that much. Im more worried about Paypal and other things like that. That would be bad. I check my other myspace accounts and this was the only one that got hacked i think. I just got to keep a close eye on my other sites, etc.
Could a virus have gotten my login/pass? Im pretty careful not to fall for that email phishing stuff.

is your myspace/paypal info the same? i suggest you change it regardless

no its not the same, but maybe the virus is a keylogger and it got my other info also. I dont really know very much about that kind of stuff. Im kindof freaking out trying to figure out where he got my info

I see this alot, people pay others to hack into peoples account and post bullitens. It has happened to some of my friends. Just change your password often.

Just a tip... Next time use a password that is randomly generated and includes letters, numbers, and symbols. If you use an 8 letter password of that form it would take 24.14 years to crack the password using brute force...

it such a huge community. i think people have just started to learn how to exploit it. I dont really have a problem with spam. It can be annoying, but hacking accounts kind of crosses the line

I was using someone else's laptop to do my myspace stuff, because i have a mac and i wanted to use friend adder. I just checked it for spyware, virues,etc. There were 96 Critical Objects!!
Spyware, Malware,Trojan Horse Viruses, everything.I was gonna check it before i started using it, but was too lazy. I feel like an idiot. This must be how they got my login/pass

your account got phished meaning that you went to a phisher's page and entered your info. happened to me and a redirect was placed on one of my accounts (8k). i changed the password and removed all the code and my profile is back to normal
