Possibly a comments/suggestion on what to add to make it better.. Afterall they have now subscribed to your site.. They could give you some good feedback

My personal opinion is that you should have a more enticing entrance page. Make it a little more sticky with a few lines of one or more of your articles or something like that. Maybe some testimonials that you ask for from a couple of your members. Anything to make it "friendly".

Perhaps highlight a few more of the benefits of joining, elaborate on just exactly the benefits they get from your list, perhaps a little less of a big blue block up top? narrow it or put some other graphic(s) into it maybe? it seems a touch bulky over that to me, opinion only

I agree you need to really give people a reason to signup what are they going to benefit from signing up for this newsletter? think of it this was if you had to creat e page that had to convince people to give you a dollar and that it was worth giving you a dollar do the same for people giving you their email.
