Thank god I didn't sell this here for $75
Here are the traffic stats which are pretty interesting. Remember, I've done no real work on this since I set it up and submitted it to a few topsites that same day.
and here's the money it makes on YPN so far since I've started putting the ads up:
Anyway, it's not bad. I'm gonna see if I can make more money from it before everything collapses
Same thing happened to my proxy... I submitted it to some top sites, and word of mouth made the traffic raise up to 2k uniques / day. It was pretty interesting.
Good job on maintaining the site in that time and being able to keep it although you didn't really want it. The website may now be able to bring in even more revenue

I'm pretty excited about that. If I put some time into it, I wonder how much I can really make. Seriously though, hehe, I've never really touched this
Too many readily available now! I would launch a proxy with maybe tab features for image upload etc, try and offer something slightly better/different than the 50million other proxy sites!

Recently, I've taken a look at quite a couple of proxies. The majority of them looks like crap. I'm not sure if the market is oversaturrated. There's always room for a good site in every market or niche.

The 50 million are all pretty much the exact same thing though - ugly with the same old boring thing.
I was thinking about playing around with some fancy "Web 2.0" concept for proxies, if only to sell the script
That's good! How much bandwidth does your proxy website take up? I'm looking forward to launching a proxy website too, but I'm not sure how much bandwidth I will need.

It ate up 5.42GB last month.. but I think it's gonna hit around 10-12GB this month
Our new proxy takes more ressources than we thought. If you plan on starting up a proxy site, be sure you have a good server. A entry server with 512megs RAM and 100GB transfer won't cut it, I'm afraid...
This is the one thing holding me back from starting my proxy yet. Anyone have more info on how much cpu phproxy really hogs? ive only heard this from people so far, havent seen it yet.
