I am becoming more and more interested in building a large forum and I have a small hobbie forum that is growing and when it comes down to making money from it what are my options.

places like valueclick and other cpm networks dont allow forums so right now i know only of

1. adsense
2. sell adspace

do you know of any others ?

My 2nd question is when it comes down to selling adspace on your forum were should i look for advertisers that would buy banner space or links or sponered threads. Thats the part i get stuck at should i email sites related to mine and let them know my uniques and such and prices so they know i am out there and have traffic they are interested in?

It can be hard. I only make a few bucks a month from my forums through adsense. I think you're better off with selling the adspace.

It really depends. If you have decent uniques per month and PR and that sort of thing you can make a thread in buy/sell/trade areas on various forums saying you're selling links for however much. You might get some buyers, might not.
