the title says it all.. what is social bookmarking and how can it help my site?

del.icio.us / digg /reddit etc.
just visit those sites and you'll get the idea

they bring in alot of traffic if u get featured.

Reddit is my favorite. You can get 30000 visitors a day if you get to the top. The problem is that social bookmark crowd aren't really clickers or buyers. Fark.Com is another site that I had quite a success with. Don't waste your time on Digg. It's rigged. The only way to get on top is through top contributors.

I've made $100/day through being on the front/2nd page of digg once, so that's not really true. Totally depends on who's visiting the site.

Digg isn't rigged, how would I get to their front page if it was?

Interesting. So Lukabuka, what kind of luck have you had with Fark and Reddit? How did you get into the 300K realm? did you have a third party help you, or did it yourself? What was the process?

I've tried shoutwire before and it does bring in allot of traffic if your on the main page, I haven't tried the other websites you guys mentioned such as Digg or Fark, do they work the same way shoutwire does? as in people voting for your listing?
